Tröegs Redesign

November 18, 2015 | Designed by Tröegs & Lindsey Tweed

The Trogner brothers, founders of Pennsylvania’s Tröegs Independent Brewing, recently collaborated with Philadelphia-based designer Lindsey Tweed to overhaul the brewery’s artwork. Tweed was the art director for the firm that designed iterations of Tröegs beer art 10 years ago.

The art shows our love of the process and — most importantly — our love of beer. The simple logos and hand-drawn fonts capture how we brew, and the artwork conveys what’s inside the bottle.

Since 1997, we’ve been in a state of perpetual evolution. Perpetual IPA was created as a direct reflection of that, and it’s emblematic of how we approach beer. The new artwork is an extension in our continuous quest to make delicious beer.

The opportunity to reimagine such an iconic brand is a huge honor — and one that happened to be really fun. Collaborating with John and Chris was an awesome experience, and I can’t wait to see our work come to life.

  1. I’ve been a huge fan of the beer for years, but I’m not sure if these labels really head in the right direction.. they just seem to be jumping on the design trend-wagon before it’s gone. I understand the rationale, but this look has so much less impact and a lot less attitude. Maybe the brews will get watered down too.

  2. uhh I don’t know what August is talking about. I love these new labels, they really brought the packaging into a better place.
