Hoots Beer Cans

Hoots Beer Co.

March 26, 2014 | Designed by Airtype

Packaging and identity for Hoots Beer Co., which recently opened in a Winston-Salem, NC co-op space which used to be a flour mill in the early 1900’s.

One of the things that made the project fun was the decision Hoots made to skip much of the ‘local, organic, sustainable’ talk present in a lot of beer marketing, and instead go with more a mystical, almost occult-like feel, as well as keeping the vibe blue-collar. The Owl and Ouroboros (snake eating its own tail) combine to make a striking logo, which also has a nice seal-like quality similar to something like PBR or The Ramones logo.
