Cinquain Tripel Label

Cinquain Tripel

Cinquain is a class of poetic forms that employ a 5-line pattern. Rather than approaching this project with the given idea of using a 5-line structure, I wanted to provide a different approach implementing the concept of a grid. The structure of a cinquain poem is what makes it unique. Using a grid to define the content, this design can relate the aesthetic of the label to its classic written form.

The type of beer was also a factor during the conceptual phase. Tripel is a term used in the Low Countries to describe a strong pale ale. Considering the origin of this brewing style, the strict grid is also influenced by design great Piet Mondrian. Using the combination of vertical and horizontal objects, the typography and artwork was heavily influenced by this style.
