Dank IPA is the first beer from Dude’s Brews, a local brewery out of Aurora, Colorado. Dank means “good,” and this west-coast inspired brew definitely lives up to the name. We worked to help launch the beer into success by designing a fun, eye-catching can design. We also designed the collateral to go with the can, including a cool beer tap.

“Dank” is a word people use to describe the smell of potent weed. Hoppy beers can have a similar aroma.

Hmmm…is this a localized usage of the word “dank”? Is it a term primarily appropriated from pot culture? Is it a well-established beer term?
I obviously have a lot of questions about this. Where can I put in a petition for “Oh Beautiful Etymology”?
