Hailing from Niagara, Canada, Silversmith Brewing Company is the outcome of two old friends obsessed with searching for great brews in a land-o-beer controlled by the mega brew monopolies. Along with other area craft brewers, Silversmith aims to restore our faith in good beer, taking a purists approach to brewing the hard way while restoring old beer tradition. Their first release is a Black Lager that takes inspiration from East German black lager recipes that we’re lost during the cold war and only recently resurfacing. The name pays homage to the family smithing tradition of one of the partners while also reflecting the artistry and focus with which they approach beer making.
