Market Garden Brewery

Market Garden Brewery

August 12, 2011 | Designed by Oliver Barrett

Developed with the intention of having an old world feel with a modern twist, this logo is a fresh but timeless concept with layers of research and wide versatility. The horse and beer cart have a classic, old world feel while paying homage to commerce in early 20th century Cleveland flowing through West 25th street. Many of the old local breweries continued to use the horse-drawn cart to deliver their beer, even after the introduction of the beer truck. The horse is also used to infuse a sense of character into the logo, and serve as an easily identifiable symbol; even if used without the wordmark portion of the logo. The wordmark is an altered version of Geogrotesque, a typeface with strong, bold lines and angles in addition to friendly rounded corners. The wordmark is meant to put a risky modern twist on the brand by removing the vowels from the word ‘Market Garden.’

  1. Thanks for the post. Wanted to point out that this was a pitch for Market Garden and the actual, final identity was done by Chris Comella -gomedia.us
